Family Pictures

On Friday we had Bishop family 1 pictures taken (all of Mike's family). Yesterday we had Bishop family 2 pictures taken (Mike, Miriam and I). I cannot wait to see the pictures. Stay tuned over the next couple of weeks.

I have also taken quite the number of pictures since we have been in Virginia. I am excited to get home and catch up on my scrapbooking. I also bought some new frames before I left. I am going to do a little redecorating when we return.

I love pictures!

100th Post!

I have finally reached one hundred posts. I have been sitting here for about 20 minutes feeling pressure to say something great. It is an epic post after all. I will never be able to take it back. Once it is done, it is done. When I first logged on I was planning on posting pictures of our trip to the temple today. Then I noticed it was going to be the 100th post, so I started over thinking this whole thing. Maybe I should post something funny about myself. Maybe I should post something you don't know about me. Maybe I should post about discovering something about myself. However, it is now 10:30 pm and I am ready to go to bed. I am too tired to think of something monumental to post. So here are some pictures for you to enjoy... and goodnight.

Haircut

For some reason (if you haven't noticed) I like posting pictures after I get my haircut. Here was the inspiration for my haircut. I love this picture.

And here is my new haircut. I know I am not as cute as Katie Holmes, but I like the haircut. I always forget how much I like my hair short. I am going to try to keep it up this time. Too bad I couldn't have had a professional photo shoot either. It looks way cuter than these pictures show.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Note: This post is mostly for my family

As a teenager (growing up in Ohio) we used to go to Friendly's restaurant after stake dances. We had such a great time stuffing our faces with huge ice cream sundaes. On Saturday I really wanted to go out for dessert. We had Mike's dad's car which has a Garmin so we just looked up food to see what we were close to. When I saw Friendly's I thought we would go try it out. Here we are enjoying our ice cream experience.

Vanessa

Michael (very excited I might add)

Miriam (didn't get to enjoy the ice cream, but thought the menu was pretty great)

At the end of this experience we came to two conclusions. 1) Friendly's is way more expensive than I remembered. 2) Friendly's is not as good as I remembered. We probably won't go again but it was a fun trip anyway.

Random Gratitude

I just wanted to thank Tai for showing me that you do not have to be afraid of cooking without a recipe. This is something that I struggle with, but would like to get better at. In fact, the other day for lunch I made some leftover spaghetti noodles into some chow mein noodles by just throwing in some stuff. They were actually edible. I am trying to start out by using a recipe for a basis then giving it my own flare. I hope to get better at this. Thanks Tai!

I also want to thank my mom for being such a wonderful example to me. She is the most patient woman I know. Patience is definately not my strong point. Being married and having a baby have helped me become more so, but it is a work in progress for me. Thanks Mom!

I just wanted to thank my wonderful husband for working so hard for our family. We are getting ready to go out to an internship and I know he is nervous. He is such a hard worker and I know he will do great. Thanks Michael!

I must be spoiled

It is 1:30 am and I am wide awake. About twenty minutes ago I woke up because Miriam was making noise. When I finally was conscious enough to think I realized it was a happy sound. She was simply in her crib "talking" to herself. I got out of bed to check on her and to see if she wanted her pacifier. She didn't want to take it, she just wanted to keep listening to herself "talk". I went back into bed to see if Michael was awake and he just asked me what I put on the math problem. Obviously he was half conscious and talking to me about what he was dreaming. I guess that after four months he is used to ignoring Miriam in the middle of the night.

This thought got me thinking. "Wait a minute, Miriam doesn't get up in the middle of the night. She has been sleeping through the night since she was six weeks old when we first moved her out of our room." Miriam has been a great sleeper since day one. She started sleeping 6-7 hours a night without waking up by the time she was six weeks old. The time gradually increased and for about the past 3-4 weeks she sleeps from 9 pm to 6:30am then eats and sleeps again until 8:30 or 9:00 am. I have been completely spoiled because now I am awake and can't go back to sleep. I don't know what to do with myself, so I am sitting in the bathroom (careful not to wake up Michael or Miriam, who has gone back to sleep now) blogging.

I taped part of this incident, but I will have to wait to add it to this post until morning.

UPDATE: Michael said I shouldn't post the video. It is actually really boring. I must have been really tired.

My Hair

I feel like I am always debating what to do with my hair. (Just check out all my posts with a haircut label)

Short?
Long?
Straight?
Curly?
Layers?
No layers?
Ponytail?
Wear it down?

So it will come as no surprise that I once again I am wondering what I should do with the mess of hair on my head. Miriam is really grabbing my hair a lot, which makes me want to cut it short. Michael likes it short. However, we will be back east this summer which means my hair will do different things. Short hair might just fro. My hair grows really fast so I don't mind being adventurous. When I look back at pictures I like my hair long. I don't really expect and answer. I am just putting this out there.
